Fazeley’s BMX Track Set for Refurbishment

Fazeley’s BMX track is set for a major refurbishment after the Town’s application for funding was granted by Veolia Environmental Services.

Fazeley Town Council, in conjunction with Lichfield District Council and Tamworth BMX Racing Club, applied for funding for the town’s BMX track via Veolia Environmental Services Trust and has been granted £21,615.

Cllr Andrew James, Leader of Fazeley Town Council, said, “Fazeley Town Council has had a lot of requests from local residents for more activities for young people and the BMX track is the start to this.”

This is the latest successful application for external funding, following Lichfield District Council’s decision to allocated S106 money to Fazeley for a new car park and MUGA (multi use games area) at the Town Council owned Mile Oak recreation ground plus new gas central heating at the Town Hall.

The free to use BMX track, located at the Mile Oak recreation ground, was built in 2009 via National Lottery funding that also paid for new children’s play equipment adjacent to the track.
