Borough Council Pays Tribute to Former Mayor

Brian BealeTamworth’s Borough Councillors and Officers paid tribute this week to former Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Brain Beale, who sadly passed away on Boxing Day.

A minute’s silence in honour of Cllr Beale was held before the start of Wednesday’s meeting of the Cabinet and Thursday’s meeting of the Healthier & Safer scrutiny committee.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Danny Cook, said, “Cllr Beale was a distinguished member of this Cabinet for several years and it is fitting that before we start tonight’s meeting we hold a minute’s silence in remembrance of Brian.”

The flag on top of Marmion House is currently flying at half-mast in honour of Cllr Beale and a memorial service will be held at St Editha’s Church in Tamworth next Tuesday, 15 January.
