Drug Arrests in Tamworth

policeFour people were arrested when officers executed drugs warrants in Tamworth as part of Operation Nemesis, Staffordshire Police’s ongoing crackdown on drug supply.

Three males, aged 17, 21 and 23, were arrested in The Leys and River Drive areas of the town between 8pm and 10pm on Thursday, January 24.  The men, all arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply, were interviewed in custody and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Earlier that day, a 39-year-old woman was arrested in the Kettlebrook area shortly after 4pm and a quantity of cannabis was recovered.  She was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug and interviewed in custody before being released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Chief Inspector Ian Coxhead, Local Policing Team Commander for Tamworth, said, “Through Operation Nemesis we’re determined to combat drug supply in all its forms in our communities.

“These arrests demonstrate our commitment to respond to information about drugs and take action.

“Information we receive from local communities about drug supply is crucial.  We’d encourage people to contact us on 101 or, alternatively, ring independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
