Destination Tamworth Find a Biz, the partnership formed to support and boost local businesses and Tamworth town centre, is launching the brand new Loyalty Club scheme on July 4.
Dozens of shops and businesses of all types in and around Tamworth are already signed up to provide offers to cardholders and it is hoped that even more will be on board before the launch of the scheme.
The aim of the loyalty card is to make local businesses more attractive to Tamworth shoppers, raise their profile and encourage shoppers to use them again and again. Cardholders get the benefit of money off deals, special discounts; buy one get one free offers and special promotions, as well as supporting local businesses.
The cards will cost £5 and will be valid for 12 months. All the special offers, which cardholders can benefit from, will be listed on the website www.findabiz.co.uk/tamworth and advertised in the participating businesses, which will display the Loyalty Club logo in their windows.
The Loyalty Club is being launched in Ankerside on July 4, to coincide with Independents Day – a nationwide initiative that aims to celebrate and promote independent traders, as well as raising the profile of Tamworth. This year’s Independents Day has the backing of businessman and Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis.
Sam Panton from Destination Tamworth Find a Biz said, “This new initiative gives local businesses the chance to continually raise their profile by being creative with offers and promotions, attracting customers and getting them back time and time again.
“The more people who buy the card, the more su8ccessful the Loyalty Club scheme will be. We need people to support local businesses. £5 for the card is an absolute bargain – and for the first 250 people who sign up for a card on July 4 in Ankerside, there is an added bonus package.”
Cllr Steve Claymore, Cabinet member for Economy, said, “Independent traders are vitally important to Tamworth and it is vital that we support them.
“This Loyalty Club scheme is en excellent way to encourage shoppers to use their local traders and it will benefit Tamworth businesses and shoppers, as well as boosting the wider town centre. I would encourage all Tamworth people to support this initiative and support their local traders.”
The cards are available to buy from Tamworth Tourist Information Centre in the Philip Dix Centre, as well as some of the participating businesses. All the businesses signed up so far, as well as their offers, can be seen at www.findabiz.co.uk/tamworth.
