On Saturday December 20th, Mayor of Tamworth, Councillor Richard Kingstone, will be throwing open the doors to the Town Hall and hosting a special Christmas event.
The Mayor will open the Town Hall doors at 9.30am and the event will run to 4.30pm. Cllr Kingstone is hoping as many people as possible will pop along to the event, so he can wish residents, who help to make the town so fantastic, a very merry Christmas.
As well as the Mayor being there to share mince pies, hot drinks and festive cheer with Tamworth residents, a very special guest will also be attending – handing out gifts – just a few days before his busiest night of the year!
The event is an extension of the ‘Be Tamworth’ campaign, to champion the good that people do in the town, while encouraging residents to be proud of Tamworth. And according to the Mayor, it is a small gesture from him to say ‘thank you’– and an excuse to share a mince pie or two!
The Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Kingstone, said, “As Christmas gets closer I wanted to hold an event to celebrate Tamworth and also to say a huge thank you to our residents for their fantastic support at events across the year.
“Tamworth is a great place to live and hopefully this fun, festive event will allow me to show my support to everyone who lives, visits or works in Tamworth – and wish everyone a very merry Christmas!”
So far, a number of local people and businesses have received a Be Tamworth award from Cllr Kingstone. You can nominate people or businesses by emailing: Richardfirstname.lastname@example.org.
