Tamworth to Host Events to Mark the first Staffordshire Day

Staffordshire dayTamworth will be doing its bit for the first-ever Staffordshire Day, with two side-splitting roadshows from the world’s funniest clown.

Staffordshire Day is a county-wide event which takes place on Sunday May 1.  Organised by Enjoy Staffordshire, it aims to highlight all that is good about the county.

Events are taking place throughout the county – and Tamworth is giving residents and visitors double the chance to get involved, with the world’s funniest clown, Bibbledy Bob, entertaining the crowds at two roadshows on Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1.

Bibbledy Bob will be thrilling the crowds from 10am to 3pm under Tamworth’s historic Town Hall in Market Street, where there will be music, magic, fun and balloon modelling – with Bibbledy Bob even attempting to pull off a Staffordshire Knot!

The award-winning clown will also be encouraging members of the public to ‘take a selfie for Staffordshire Day’ in front of the large pop-up selfie banner and share it on social media, using the hashtag #StaffordshireDay to show their pride in the county.

Then on Sunday May 1, Bibbledy Bob will take his roadshow to Roaster’s on Ventura Retail Park, again from 10am to 3pm.

Andrew Barratt, Tamworth Borough Council’s Director of Assets & Environment, said: “We are delighted to be part of the first-ever Staffordshire Day and hope that as many people as possible will come along during the weekend to support these events.”

Details of all the events taking place throughout Staffordshire can be seen at the Enjoy Staffordshire website.
