Staffordshire Police Warn Residents to be Aware of Bogus Phone Calls

Phone_ScamStaffordshire Police received a call yesterday, Wednesday 6th July, from a lady reporting suspicious phone calls received at a property in Aldin Close, Bonehill, Tamworth.

The caller stated they are working jointly with the Police, Ambulance and Fire Services and would like to come and install complimentary equipment.

Police warn if you are contacted out of the blue by a company/charity then be on you guard and do not get drawn into accepting a service you never sought.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting the incident number 243 or 228 of the 06/7 and 7/7/16.

Staffordshire Police are asking the public, particularly those who are elderly or vulnerable, to be on their guard and ensure they do not part with any money, or personal details, over the phone.  No legitimate organisation will ask you to pay a fee to receive money and your bank will not ask you for your passwords and account numbers.

Call the police on 101 if you are suspicious and please remind elderly neighbours and family so they can avoid becoming a victim.
